06.29.08 - After a few weeks, I'm probably going to hate pizza.

I have a job! First one ever (not counting a few freelance illustration projects). I'm 19 years old, and up until last Friday, I had never worked a day in my life. What a lazy bum, right? But I can officially never say that again. I'm a working man now! I am a pizza cook at Bellagios Pizza in Goose Hollow (only a block away from my apartment!).  It's delicious pizza, and the people I work with seem pretty rad. All in all, as terrified as I am at the prospect of being employed, I think this whole "Job" thing is going to work out swell.

That being said, I apologize the lack of content/updates lately. Needless to say, I've been pretty busy trying to find work, but now that I have succeeded, I'll get back to creating magical comic adventures and animated tomfoolery.

05.13.08 - Whoo nelly! What a busy boy!

I am now in the last week of classes at PNCA. After 6:oo pm on Wednesday, I will have officially completed my first year of college. Hooray for me! Here's a little snipit of what I've been up to:

It's my final project for Basic Drawing. I guess you could call it an "Animated Self Portrait." It's made up of 20 drawings of myself, looped in multiple sequences. The music is by YACHT. Hope you like.

[post. script.] Stumptown was AWESOME! You shoulda been there.

04.22.08 - An orange for every mood!

I went over to BT's house last night and he helped me make all these awesome buttons of OSWALD THE ORANGE! There's five different faces and if you buy the whole pack, you can wear the one that best suits your mood. "How ingenious!" " What fun!" "Where can I get one?"  Well, I'm going to be selling these at STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST this weekend along with a printed mini of all the Oswald strips, not to mention a bunch of other cool stuff. So if you want some, come an' git et. [THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, 10:00 to 6:00!!!]

04.19.08 - Beware the ROBOPOCALYPSE...

What you see before you are  the covers of the new RCC anthology "BEWARE THE ROBOPOCALYPSE", freshly screen printed and hanging out to dry. What does this mean? It means its almost done! I've finished my submission and tomorrow we're going to fold and staple them all together. I'm so excited about STUMPTOWN that it's most likely unhealthy. But I don't care. It's gonna be BADASS! if you come, swing by the ROBOPOCALYPSE table and say hello (and perhaps buy a comic or two). Hope I see you there.

04.04.08 - ACTIVATE!

The deadline for my ROBOPOCALYPSE comic is coming up, and although I'm a bit behind schedule, I'm slowly getting closer to the end. Don't forget to come check us out at STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST on the 26th and 27th! Our new anthology will be out by then, and I'll have a few other new tricks up my sleeve as well. See you then.

03.09.08 - Sneak peek!

The STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST is drawing ever nearer, and the ROBOPOCALYPSE COMIC COLLECTIVE is getting ready. One of the new items we'll have for sale is a new anthology full of short comics about - you guessed it - robots. I've still got a lot of work to do on my contribution, but I figured I'd give you a little preview of what's to come. These are just a character sketch and 5 of the 8 thumbnails, and they probably won't make any sense without the script, but I just wanted to give a little taste. And prove that I've actually been doing something. So check it out.

More to come soon.

03.03.08 - Good things come in sub-space packages.

Small update. Here's a picture I did right after the new SCOTT PILGRIM came out. This was one of my favorite scenes in the book. If I could pull that kind of voodoo magic out my ass, I'd be set.

02.27.08 - Friends and friends.

Just a few new LINKS  today. These are all awesome artists that you should go look at right now. Seriously. Stop wasting time here and go Click, Click, Click!

02.26.08 - OH MY GOD AWESOME!!!

I just realized that I can update this site from my apartment now! When I first moved here, for some reason or another, I couldn't get the ftp client (the thing that uploads my files to the intraweb) to work here, but I just tried it again, and after months of not working for no reason, IT WORKS! I used to have to go to school to update the site on their computers (which was a BIG hassle), but not anymore baby. I think it's safe to say that you can expect more frequent updating from now on. HOORAY FOR THE INTERNET!

(I'm really happy right now.)

02.25.08 - Animation is fun.

Pretty decent update today. Got a few ANIMATIONS and MUSIC in the gallery, and I uploaded some comics to the STRIPS section about one of my old characters named OSWALD THE ORANGE. The RCC has a show at TENDER LOVING EMPIRE in April, and we're going to STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST again this year on April 26th and 27th, so expect some beefier updates in the future. Toot-a-loo.

01.02.08 - Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and so on and so forth.

I got some pretty cool stuff for Christmas, but the coolest thing I got is a gift that I'm sure will keep on giving. The SHOP section of this site has been "Comming soon" for a very long time, but hopefully, that will soon change. What am I talking about? Oh, you'll see.

11.15.07 - Evil exes...

I would have posted about this yesterday, but I was to busy. Doing what you ask? Oh, just READING THE LATEST INSTALLMENT OF SCOTT PILGRIM, THE MOST KICKASS AMAZING INDIE COMIC OF THE 21st CENTURY! Yesterday was the release of SCOTT PILGRIM GETS IT TOGETHER, and if you don't already read and/or love Scotty P, there couldn't be a better time than now to get into it. It's statistically proven that reading this comic will boost your coolness +10 points. Go buy it.

NOW!

11.5.07 - I never get any mail.

I mean actual post office mail. Not that e-shit or icrap. Mr. Fitch sent me food money a week ago. That was cool. I check my mailbox almost every day. Sometimes I wonder why though. Oh, and coupons to Pizza Hut don't count.

I made some Ink drawings on cardboard that turned out pretty neat. I don't use a brush very often, but I'm starting to get into it. It's probably Bryan Lee O'Malley's fault. Anywhoo, they're in the DRAWINGS. Go check them out. Tell me what you think of them. Talk to you later. Tee Tee Why Ehl.

10.24.07 - 17 Hours and 8,000 cups of coffee later...

I participated in  24 Hour Comics Day last Saturday. Started by Scott McCloud, it is an annual event that takes place each year in which comic artists try to create a 24 page comic... in 24 HOURS! This means that the conception, writing, drawing, inking, lettering and finishing touches of the comic must be completed within the given time. It's a lot harder than it sounds. I started drawing at 10:00 am on Saturday and finished (I use the word "finished" LOOSELY) at around 3:00 am on Sunday. Then I slept all day. It was interesting to say the least. Maybe I'll upload the finished product. Maybe. I don't know if I want to subject you to that though. We'll see. I'll talk to your mother and see what she thinks.

Anyway, Got a couple things up today. The RCC is working on a little jam comic (one person draws a page and then passes it on to the next person) and I finished MY PAGE. It's up in the STRIPS section. I also updated the GALLERY with a picture of a girl eating an Otter Pop in her underwear. It's in DRAWINGS.

Well, wish me luck for the next 24 hours. See you on the other side.

10.17.07 - Poke 'im with a stick. See if he's alive.

No, I'm not dead. School's been kicking my ass. I'm trying to kick back, but it seems like school is winning at the moment. I also got in a bit of a bike accident, so there's that too. All excuses aside, it's a pretty exciting time in Matthew Seely's Precious Life right now. I'm now a member of a comics collective in Portland by the name of Robopocalypse Comics Collective. It's a rag-tag team of misfits who get their kicks by drawing pictures inside of little squares. I've got some stuff for sale on the site, including an RCC anthology of two page stories about monsters and/or creatures aptly titled "Creature Feature". That being said, I've posted my contribution to it in the STRIPS section. It's called "REVENGE OF THE MEATMEN". Go checkit.

Well, my hopes are that I won't make a habit of posting only once a month, but seeing as how I can't update this site from my apartment (for GOD KNOWS WHY!!!), I can't promise how often I'll post. All I can say is that I love you all dearly. And that's good enough for me.

9.4.07 - Oh, those little stinkers!

I start my first class of college in 2 hours. Oh dang! Little Matthew's all grown up! Wish me luck.

Anyway, small update today. Got some more strips in the COMICS section. They include, a couple Little Stinkers strips that I did for my High School newspaper THE CLYPIAN, and a new one I did the other night that deals with telephone stalking. Go look at them. It'll make your grandma proud.

8.24.07 - Home sweet home and comics gallore!

I'm in Portland! Hooray! I just finished moving in, and my apartment is super-fucken-rad-awesome-cool! You should come over and see it sometime. Seriously. Just stop by. Anyway, I've updated the COMICS section with STRIPS and my SEXYSEXYBICYCLE comics. So go read some comics. Preferably mine. Bye for now.

Welcome to my kingdom!

Post. Script. So I said that I was going to try and update the site every Wednesday. That was bullshit. I'm a busy man with a busy schedule (i.e. I am lazy), so the site will be updated at my leisure. I'll try to not go more than 2 weeks tops without a sign of life. If I don't post for over two weeks though, don't call the police. I'm probably fine. After three weeks though, start to worry.

8.10.07 - Arcticfieldsarefuckingcold

I just got back from the lone star state. It was hot. That about sums up my trip. While most of the time I was there I didn't feel very inspired, I did do a handful of drawings I liked, so I uploaded them to the GALLERY. One of them is what might be the cover for my Alex Fitch's solo project, ARCTIC FIELDS

It's really amazing, mind blowing stuff, so go check it out. Your ears will thank you for it.

7.31.07 - Comics are coming

Right now I'm working on setting up the COMICS section. It's coming along, but it's still taking awhile. I've uploaded two mini comics, "Footprints" and "Ten Reasons I Like Brita Thompson".

One of them is about:

and the other is about:

My two loves.

7.20.07 - Only one can live while the other survives...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out tonight at 12:00am. I'm pretty "booked" for this weekend, if you know what I mean. Here's a little sumthin'...

7.18.07 - "You're the last thing on an empty list to do"

Just a small update today. I went to see my brother Paul's band ELKTEETH play a show last weekend, and was yet again blown off of my ass by their music. They're going to be recording some songs soon (ABOUT GODDAM TIME!), so I did this cover art for their CD when it's done. I might try out some other ideas too, but this is my first attempt. Check it out in the GALLERY. In other news, I'm Going to try and update the site every Wednesday from now on. Comics and Photos will be coming next, and the store will be after that. In the meantime, check out this awesome video my girl friend BRITA THOMPSON made.

7.11.07 - "Don't get lost in Hagrid's beard! Ahhh!"

Oh SNAP! If you're any kind of Harry Potter fan and you enjoy rocking out to fun, awesome tunes then you must check out HARRY AND THE POTTERS! Brita and I went to see them tonight in Portland and they blew my muggle mind out of this world. We got to meet them too! They're great guys. If that wasn't enough, after the show, we all went to the 12:10 showing of HP5 (and it beats the pants off of Goblet of Fire!!!). And to top it all off, Brita and I dressed as wizards. Best nerd date EVER! Here's some pics of our magical night:

I went as Harry year 9...

Brita and I showed our Wizard pride!

Harry and the Potters spread magical sound waves through the crowd...

Brita and I got a photo shoot with Harry year 7 (Paul DeGeorge). Totally awesometastic!

Anyway, it was an awesome night. It's now 5:10am, and I'm going to bed. Hope I don't dream about any snakes attacking my best friends dad...

(Post. Script... I'll have an actual website update soon. Summer has been getting the better of me. Comics section is coming.)

6.27.07 - Icky Showers and the Crazy Sixties

Small update. A couple new DRAWINGS in the gallery. I tried to update this earlier, but my ftp client was being a bitch. Damn you intranetweb!

6.25.07 - Laff your ass off!

My girlfriend Brita showed me this website that she stumbled upon and we proceeded to watch these guys' short films until our cheeks hurt from laughing (literally!). CHECK THEM OUT for supreme hilarity: Waverly Films!

6.24.07 - No one knows

Only one person has emailed me a guess as to what last post's mystery photo is of (it was wrong), so either nobody knows or nobody cares. Oh well. More AMAZING FANTASTIC MAGICAL SURPRISE for me. I uploaded the PAINTINGS section to the gallery. It's not my main medium, but I like to dabble. Go take a peek or feel the wrath of this guy...

Oh shit!

6.13.07 - Music for your ears and a prize for your eyes

Today I've uploaded some musical Em Pee Threes in the MUSIC section of the gallery, so you should go listen to them before someone else does and gets their nasty, diseased earwax all over them! GROSS. I also did a few minor updates to the rest of the site, such as changing the banner at the top and adding my good friend and former art educator Mr. Nicholas Liebrecht to the links section. He is a master of the naked drips. And on one final note, the first person to email me and correctly guess what is pictured in the following photograph will win an AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC MAGICAL SURPRISE!!! I don't know what It will be yet, but It'll be something cool. Good luck.

whatcoulditbe???

6.10.07 - And again!

Wow! Two updates in one day! Not off to a bad start, if I do say so myself! I put up some more recent sketchbook drawings in the DRAWINGS section and uploaded all of my current cartoons (at least those that are any good) to the ANIMATIONS section. Go to the gallery and check, check, check them OUT!

6.10.07 - Prologue...

My name is Matthew Seely, and this is my new site. It's still heavily under construction, but I figured I might as well put up what I have while I'm finishing the rest of it. If you find something on the site that isn't working (like fonts don't look right or links are bad) shoot me a message at sexysexybicycle@hotmail.com. You will find many things on this site, most of them works that I've created. I've got a bit of a ways to go before all of the sections are up to date, but keep checking back for updates in the near future. Well, thanks for welcoming me to the internet. Here's something to remember me by...
